This is an open source optical character recogniton (OCR) app based on Xamarin and Tesseract (hence Xsseract), sources available at https://github.com/marono/Xsseract The app only supports OCR for English text, but if popular I'll add other languages in future releases. The app will post error reports and usage data anonymously (you'll notice there's no permissions requirement for private data on the device); this feature can't be disabled (for now at least). Permissions explained: - SD card: deploying the tesseract training and orentation files - Camera: for obvious reasons - Internet/Network/WiFi: this is for downloading tesseract files (in the future), we need to check whether you're running on a mobile data connection to ask for download permissions (so that we don't waste your data plan with 30+MB downloads)Download Xsseract 1.0.1 APK
